You can imagine that maintaining them is pretty complicated, so not surprisingly there is an organization responsible for the irrigation of these fields. Every Balinese village has one of these so called irrigation organizations and all rice field farmers are obliged to join and do what this organization asks them to do.

Subak Museum Tabanan, Bali Water Irrigation System is the only one museum in Bali and also in the world which is explaining and containing about Bali water irrigation system, its located at Tabanan regency. This museum collecting all the traditional Balinese farmer equipments which are usually used to work in their rice field. The old pictures of Balinese farmer with their rice filed are also collected in Subak Museum.
